NJs Forward Arrow was founded on a simple, powerful belief: everyone deserves access to care, dignity, and support – no matter their circumstances.
Our journey began when two women who had become friends, with a background in social work, behavioral health, and a passion to help, came together with a shared vision: To create a trusted, community-based organization that could walk alongside individuals facing some of life’s most difficult challenges.
Our Founders: A Shared Commitment to Change
We brought together decades of combined experience in social work, behavioral health, and care coordination, where we witnessed firsthand how fragmented systems often failed the very people who needed the most support – those navigating poverty, chronic illness, mental health issues, and homelessness.
Motivated by these experiences, we created NJS Forward Arrow, a place where care is not just coordinated but personalized, compassionate, and community-driven.
A Mission That Matters
From day one, our mission has been clear:
To empower individuals and families by providing whole-person, culturally responsive care that bridges health and social service systems.
We began by offering basic care navigation and social services. Over time, we grew to include Enhanced Care Management (ECM), Community Supports, and developed behavioral health partnerships. We have made a commitment to serve individuals and families every-step of the way.
Our Growth, Your Community
Today, NJs Forward Arrow serves individuals and families across San Diego County as well as Imperial, Riverside and Fresno Counties, in partnership with Medi-Cal managed care plans, hospitals, nonprofits, and community agencies. But at the heart of our work is still the same founding principle: care with dignity, for all.
